The Folkes Branch
Drainage Improvement project provided for the installation of a
cast-in-place, reinforced concrete paved bottom in Folkes Branch
Ditch. In the 1970’s vertical walls were constructed in Folkes Branch
using precast concrete panels set in H-piles; and the ditch bottom
left unpaved with only concrete checks for grade control. The current
project completed in 2000, consisted of demolition and removal of the
existing ditch bottom, subgrade preparation, and placement of
geotextile fabric with 6” aggregate base under 8” of concrete. Minor
repairs of the existing vertical concrete walls were also performed
along with the 3,600 L.F. of ditch bottom improvements.
