Polyengineering,
Inc. has been successfully designing military ranges since 1988.
In this time, we have designed over 50 ranges.
Our team was the first to design many of the now-standard digital
and non-digital training ranges currently in use at Army Installations
across the country. We earned a
reputation as being a leader in military training range design by taking
great pride in
producing something that plays an important part in preparing our troops
for entering into battle.
Our capable staff has experience successfully designing ranges of
all sizes for various climates across the world. We have the
ability to design the most technologically advanced ranges,
regardless of the environmental conditions affecting the selected
site. We have designed and managed the construction of ranges
in the most diverse climates ranging from the arctic conditions
found in Alaska, the tropical weather common to Hawaii, the extreme
desert climate of Saudi Arabia, and various locations around the
continental US. We have the necessary personnel, experience,
equipment, and resources to successfully design multiple projects on
time and within budget regardless of geographic location.
Every project we design incorporates the
concepts of LEED certification and Anti-Terrorism/Force
Protection Standards. Our projects
incorporate waste reduction measures and we re-use recovered
materials in many of our designs. Pollution prevention
measures are designed into every project in the form of erosion and
sediment control plans, stream bank protection, wetlands protection
and endangered species protection, to name a few. We are
committed to and aware of the importance of sustainable design
emphasizing environmental stewardship, resource conservation
and recycled materials use. We understand the importance of
these items and realize the growing need to be forward thinking in
our profession.
Perhaps one of our most unique features is our
commitment to meeting project deadlines while still delivering a
quality design project. Our experienced team of engineers,
architects, and support personnel bring a wide variety of
capabilities allowing us to provide the most efficient, cost
effective and responsive service possible. We have never
missed a submission deadline. We have never delivered a
project that could not be awarded due to budget problems.
Design of
Military Training Facilities requires an insight into the training
requirements of the Army.
Our team is passionate about providing state-of-the-art,
quality training venues for our soldiers.
We take pride in designing to the budget.
We are practical and work with the end user as well as the
contracting authority to advise them at each design stage on ways to
ensure the project bids are within the funding limits.
Over the years, the larger-scale digital ranges have become more
and more complex. Historically, we completed internal LOS Analyses
utilizing civil design software. While this method of analysis was
very accurate, it took many weeks of manpower to complete. With
design schedules shrinking and the design of the ranges continuing to
become more complex, a decision was made to partner with Geographic
Information Services, Inc. (GISi) of Birmingham, AL and RWA of Ozark, AL
to develop an automated tool to validate LOS on training range projects.
GISi has been a trusted ESRI® Business Partner for over fifteen years.
ESRI® has commended GISi seven times in the last six years for their
expertise and technology leadership, including the inaugural ESRI®
Foundation Partner, Southeast Region Business Partner of the Year and
Most Valuable Professional for ArcObjects support. GISi also developed
the Range Managers Took Kit (RMTK) which has been a huge success in the
training range community.
RWA is a leading training consulting firm with one purpose: giving war
fighters the best training facilities in the world. RWA employs
master gunners, civil engineers, retired military professionals, and
other subject matter experts with in-depth knowledge of the Army's Range
& Training Land Program (RTLP). RWA's in-depth knowledge of Army
Training Doctrine and the Army's digital training requirements were key
to the development of RangeSight.
The training range expertise of Polyengineering,
Inc. combined with the ESRI® technology expertise of GISi and the
functional training expertise of RWA led to the production of a
state-of-the-art program for analyzing LOS on complex training range
projects. That program’s name…RangeSight.
